This is my first time traveling outside the country. It's my dream to travel around the world(praying that it will happen someday and it did). I can feel that it is coming true with this trip as the start. More to go as the company I'm affiliated with gives opportunities to go to different places since it is the company's mission to reach out to the people around the globe. Our destination is Macau but we have to travel via Hong Kong for the reason to also visit this wonderful place.
We landed at Hong Kong international airport then rushed to fall in line for the immigration to verify our passport. Since this is my first time traveling, I asked for tips on how to have it simple so that I will not take so much time (better say you will be in a tour with your friends than to say that you will be having a company convention). After the verification, we got in a train to get our luggage (imagine that a train is needed for the luggage, that's how big the airport is). We had a companion who lived in Hong Kong for quite a while so we did not worry too much where that train would be.
The picture below shows the people who usually fall in line for immigration verification. People of different races that will come and visit Hong Kong. We had to hurry up in order to finish early. It was like we're running for our lives...just kidding.
After the verification, we rode a bus for the Macau trip. We need to ride a ferry to be able to reach Macau Island. It lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, bordering Guangdong province to the north and facing the South China Sea to the east and south.
The picture in the right was taken when we arrived in Macau. It was a relief for me when we finally reached Macau since I did not find the ferry ride pleasant at all because of the huge waves rocking the ferry. We checked in at The Venetian Macau Hotel, Asia's most exciting entertainment destinations and preeminent for conventions and exhibition venues. Then we walked around the venue and took some pictures. What I saw in Macau really made me say "oh wow", everything there seemed like a dreamland just like the ones shown in movies where impossible became possible. It was all beautiful and amazing. Well, enough about it. Before the trip I told myself to really check out the Gondola rides. While roaming around, we took pictures of people riding it and listened to the serenading gondoliers. Gondoliers will serenade you as you take a leisurely ride through the San Luca, Marco Polo or Grand Canals, aboard their beautifully crafted Venetian gondolas. What a lovely scene we've encountered.
The area is so huge that you can't visit the whole place in a day. We got hungry and ate something from one of the restaurants. Most of the people who come to Macau are tourists and businessmen so they don't mind the expensive prices of the food but we do, we keep on converting the prices to Philippine peso and it only worsen the situation and made it more difficult for us to choose. What we did was think of the price as peso and it was a relief... We strolled more after dinner and witnessed another wonderful specialty of The Venetian, which is the singing lady at one of the castle's window. They will sing a classical piece which is really good for the ears.
After walking around and all the wandering, we got tired and so decided to go back to our room. We slept and waited for the next morning for the main event and the reason why we were there.

I'm so happy to have shared my experience and writing this blog ever. I have not posted a formal blog yet and also hoping that this is the first but not the last.
